I admit that I have tons of blackheads (or whiteheads) especially on my nose. And I already bought different products which I thought could help me get rid of these disgusting blackheads. Since I was too desperate on what to do, I searched over the net for some remedies. And here’s an interesting article on how to get rid of blackheads with home remedies. Read on!
Things You’ll Need:
- Salt water
- Toothpaste
- Lemon juice
- Orange peel
- Water
- Aloe vera
- Witch hazel
- Ice
- Egg
- Honey
- Ground radish seeds
Here’s what you should do:
- Wash your face once a day with a mixture of salty water. Add one tablespoon of salt to 8 ounces of warm water. The salt will help to dry out excess oil, thus helping to get rid of blackheads.
- Put a small bit of toothpaste on the blackheads. This will help to reduce any swelling from the blackheads and dry out the oil in them. Make sure to use an actual toothpaste and not a gel.
- Squeeze juice from a lemon and apply the juice to the blackheads. Leave the juice on overnight. The acidity of the lemon juice helps to remove oil from the area.
- Mix ground orange peel with a bit of water to make a paste. Don’t add so much water to make the mixture a liquid; just enough to remain in paste form. Apply the paste to the affected areas and leave on overnight.
- Apply aloe vera to the blackheads. Aloe vera is available in most drug stores, however you can also use the juice directly from the plant. Simply break off a bit of the plant and you’ll find the aloe vera juice inside. Aloe vera has soothing properties and helps speed the healing process. You will see your skin recover more quickly from the blackheads as a result of using it.
- Soak a cotton ball in witch hazel and apply to the areas where you tend to get blackheads. Witch hazel kills bacteria, helps to unclog pores and encourages a healthy complexion.
- Rub an ice cube across your blackheads for about 10 minutes. This will help to tighten the pores there thus providing less space for oil to dwell.
- Beat one egg white in a bowl. Add one tablespoon of fresh honey and mix. Apply this mixture to your face and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. This mixture has been shown to be effective at eliminating and preventing blackheads.
- Mix ground radish seeds with water to form a thick paste. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it there for about 30 minutes. You’ll find your skin is less prone to blackheads if you do this once a week.
I better tell mom to buy me some aloe vera (and some lemons too) later so that I can start with my “Oplan-Alis-Blackheads” Project. LOL.
